Marvel welcomes Fantastic Four back to publication

Marvel Entertainment has confirmed the return of the Marvel's first family, the Fantastic Four, in a brand new series that begins this August 2018--- three years since its last issue was published.

This was announced by C.B. Cebulski on Marvel's Twitter account.

“The first family is returning to Marvel on a monthly basis. It’s the original four,” Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski said. “Chip Zdarsky is doing a great job on Marvel 2-in-1, that book is going to continue, but Reed and Sue will be coming back to the Marvel universe and that team will be reforming.

Writer Dan Slott (The Amazing Spider-Man) will pen the series, which will feature art by Sara Pichelli (Ultimate Spider-Man).

“Dan is the biggest fan of the Fantastic Four,” Cebulski adds. “But he has that uncanny ability to have this almost encyclopedic memory of everything that happened in every Marvel comic, including Fantastic Four, from the first issue, and respect the past in the stories but also drive the stories forward with new ideas and new ways of thinking and new approaches that we haven’t seen before.”

The Fantastic Four was the first superhero team created by editor/co-plotter Stan Lee and artist/co-plotter Jack Kirby, who developed a collaborative approach to creating comics with this title that they would use from then on.
