Year of Legendary Pokémon

2018 is gonna be a great year for all Pokémon fans. Pokémon Company International is aiming to make this year Legen... wait for it... dary! All throughout the year, they will be giving several of the series' legendary Pokémon to owners of Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Two Legendaries will be available starting from February to November.

“As a thank you to all the Trainers out there who have been so committed and passionate about Pokémon over the years, we want to make 2018 a legendary year,” said J.C. Smith, senior director of Consumer Marketing for The Pokémon Company International. “We’re offering fans a chance to access these powerful Legendary Pokémon across the brand while celebrating their role in the franchise’s legacy.”


Here's the list of legendary Pokémon and their corresponding month of availability
  • February: Dialga and Palkia
  • March: Regigigas and Heatran
  • April: Raikou and Entei
  • May: Xerneas and Yveltal
  • June: Zygarde and Formes
  • July: Tornadus and Thundurus
  • August: Groudon and Kyogre
  • September: Latios and Latias
  • October: Reshiram and Zekrom
  • November: Ho-Oh and Lugia
The company is also expanding the legendary event to all platforms like Pokemon TCG, Pokémon Shuffle and Pokémon Go. Shuffle players can participate in a special event featuring Dialga and Palkia from February 6 through February 13, with other legendary focused events planned throughout the year. You can also share your legendary stories of your Pokémon journey by using the hashtag #BeLegendary for a chance to be featured in their social media.
